2022 was the year that saw John’s joyous return to the festival, greeting a rapturous crowd ready to experience old favorites like ‘New Blues Old Bruise,’ ’El Hombre Que Sabia’ (written for friend and collaborator Paco De Lucia) as well as takes on Pharoah Sanders’ ‘The Creator Has a Master Plan’ and Piero Piccioni’s cinematic classic ‘The Light at the Edge of the World.’

 

Recorded on state-of-the-art mobile multi-track equipment, filmed in HD video, and mixed and mastered by George Murphy (Shakti, Mumford & Sons, Ellie Goulding) at London’s Eastcote Studios, “Live at Montreux Jazz Festival 2022” is an immersive deep dive into the magic, improvisation, and virtuosity of the man Jeff Beck once called “the greatest living guitarist” with a peerless band behind him.
