Iceage - For Love of Grace & the Hereafter

Iceage - For Love of Grace & the Hereafter

For Love of Grace & the Hereafter is the sixth studio album from beloved Danish quintet Iceage. Across the sprawling, 12 song arc of the album, a universe of love variously expands and contracts in an eternal tango, Elias Rþnnenfelt’s lyrics dance with intimacy while the band masterfully maneuvers within their shape-shifting scenery of anthemic post-punk.

For Love of Grace & the Hereafter signals a new chapter for one of the most influential bands of the last decade (all five of their albums have earned Pitchfork’s coveted ‘Best New Music’), evolving far beyond their original post-punk framework into something fluid, genre-agnostic, and generationally resonant. Throughout the Danes sixth studio album, For Love of Grace & the Hereafter, there’s a sparkle to the band not heard before. It’s both fun and as serious as ever, growing and glowing through love.

Most recently as a solo artist, Elias RĂžnnenfelt has lived at the intersection of Copenhagen indie, pan-European art-pop, UK experimental music, and internet-native rap and R&B: from the folky, left-field Yung Lean / FousheĂ© collaboration ‘Little Gods’ to the self-produced ‘Mona Lisa’. RĂžnnenfelt’s 2024 collaborative EP with Dean Blunt, ‘lucre’ crystallized quickly as a cult hit, surpassing 40 million streams and counting. Cameron Winter pinned RĂžnnenfelt’s 2024 album Heavy Glory as one of his favorites of the year.
